Apocalypse recruits mutants to serve as his Four Horsemen. Apocalypse’s scheme is to unleash his Horsemen to destroy. Depending on what story line your reading will vary what mutants he recruits to wreak havoc. The group consists of four individuals (usually mutants) that have been genetically altered and brainwashed either willingly or forcibly. They are enhanced or endowed with new abilities, and are always given the same titles based upon the biblical Four Horsemen (Death, Famine, Pestilence (replacing the biblical Conquest), and War). The Four Horsemen remain his elite minions, always playing a key role in his plans. In a storyline he even revives Magneto, Storm, Mystique, and Professor X as his four horsemen with enhanced powers. In another storyline he recruits Hulk as War.

Who was that at the “End Credits” of X-Men: Days of Future Past?

 

So you saw X–Men: Days of Future Past and you stayed to get a glimpse of Marvels epic after credit scenes but didn’t know who that character was, yet alone  who “En Sabah Nur” is. 

Here is a quick breakdown of who “En Sabah Nur” is… A BAD MOTHA MOTHA. No literally he is! One of the top 5 most powerful mutants of the X-men universe. Also in the comic book universe he is the first ever mutant. His powers consist of immortality, superhuman strenght, virtual invulnerability to harm, teleport,flight and the power to morph (up to the molecular level) and those are just to name a few. A real force to be reckoned with.

 

Origin

” Born in ancient Egypt the young Apocalypse was abandoned as an infant due to his gray skin and blue lips as well as unusual markings on his face – he was found and raised by desert nomads – who would teach him the ways of “survival of the fittest”. He later named En Sabah Nur which means “The First One” in the Egyptian language. ” 

Remember that scene in “300” when they made the young spartans fight to the death to show their proof as warriors, yeah Apocalypse does that alot!

In fact this is one of his quotes

          “I will weed out the weak and the inferior, so that only the strong survive!” 

Oh and his goal is to destroy the weak and the inferior aka rule the world. Plunge the world into a terrible genetic war in which mutants would ultimately rule the world. Then after mutants wipe the humans out of the equation, because obviously humans are inferior, he would see to it that mutants battled each other until only the strongest, most aggressive individuals survive.
